The Willow tree

She plants herself near water. She grows more beautiful and flexible with age. She represents youth and playfulness, fertility, femininity, and profound spirit.

Willow Midwives was established to provide you with the highest quality experience while you seek care for your hormonal, sexual, reproductive and counter-reproductive health.

As I move into the autumn of my career, my vision is to provide ongoing care for you and your family from the position of providing a workplace and mentorship for midwives who welcome you warmly and professionally and provides you-centered care. Expressing your needs requires time for relaxation and adjustment to the setting so your midwife can individualize your care however your express your needs.

My vision includes serving employees well with a core value of fairness. I seek employees who value our unique brand of care, are proud to be a part of Willow and who bring hard work, creativity, openness and a commitment to balance.

Willow Midwives’ values and include service to all within our scope of practice, respectful interactions, informed decision-making, health promotion, education and wellness, excellence in care, best practices and measurably good outcomes.

As a world citizen my favorite non-profit organization is: https://globalhealthmedia.org/get-involved/. As an ‘earth -responsible’ company, Willow Midwives commits to reducing waste by using cloth and reusable products whenever possible.

A true local, St. Kate’s and University of Minnesota as well as my family, friends and relatives shaped me into the midwife I’ve been since 1989. A youthful traveler, I left a little of my heart in Bogota, Colombia. My births have included: a pitocin induction with narcotic pain relief, 2 unmedicated home births, 1 unmedicated hospital birth and a Cesarean for “brow presentation, mentum posterior”.

I’ve worked in the HealthEast, Allina, and Park Nicollet systems, Ridgeview Medical Center, two other birth centers prior to starting Willow Midwives.

In 2001 the journey for Birth Centers in MN began with the help of Kitty Ernst. And in 2010, licensure of Birth Centers was overwhelmingly supported by MN legislators. In 2015 APRN licensure legislation opened the door for the independent practice of midwifery in MN and Willow was planted.
